We are facing lost generations of people who are enslaved to drug and alcohol addictions. We all know someone in our family, circle of friends or where we work, someone whose life has been degraded by these addictions. Addiction often leads to homelessness, which is in the news daily. Often their addictions lead to a prison term for the associated behavior of crime to support their addiction.
Brad Denny was such a person. Brad grew up in Springfield, Missouri
being enabled by others, and he walked into this lifestyle and lived it until
he was 55 years old. His story can be viewed in the attached link, One Broken
Life, found below in this blog. Brad
attended Freeway Discipleship House in Springfield, Missouri and his life has
never been the same. The year-long program taught him Christian principles for
living and how to be a good citizen.
Accountability and camaraderie changed his whole life and
trajectory.
Brad attended additional training with
Freeway Springfield and has come to Kingsport, Tennessee to help us establish a
Men’s Discipleship House where he can help others break their bondage to their
addictions, as he has. Brad will be the House Manager and live with those who
seek to reclaim their lives.
We currently have a Ministry Building in Kingsport that can be modified
to house men. We have the architecture
drawings approved by the city for the needed modifications to have men living
in the building. The cost for the
modifications is as follows:
Fire alarm and
sprinkler system bid
$52,000
Fire rated
drywall upgrade and doors, A/C modifications. $15,000
Storage shed to
house displaced items.
$8,000
Total need is
$75,000
Please consider investing in our community and people’s lives by
financially supporting this great need. We are a 501C and get no government
funding. Freeway year long program graduates show success rates over 90%, they
never return to their addictions, and are working tax paying citizens.
You can support this great local need in numerous ways; a one-time gift, monthly support, prayer, share this opportunity with others or even volunteer.
