2016 SCHOOL SUPPLIES DISTRIBUTION
It will be time for school to start back before we know it. First Baptist Church, Kingsport is so gracious to coordinate this for us again! Here's the schedule:
- Thursday, July 21: Last Day for students to register to receive supplies.(See below.)
- Monday, July 25: First Baptist Church will receive donated items, 10:00 AM - noon
- Friday, July 29: Supplies will be bagged by volunteers at FBC Fellowship Hall, 9:00 AM (Volunteers Needed!)
- Friday, July 29: Supplies will be picked up by students at Gibsontown Ministries, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM (Volunteers Needed!)
Last year approximately 359 students were given packages of grade appropriate supplies through Gibsontown Ministries. This was approximately 59 more students receiving supplies than in 2014. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED MAKE THAT POSSIBLE!! Without the help of several area churches and individuals it would not have happened.
Would you prayerfully consider helping students start back to school with all of their necessary supplies? Would you encourage your church to participate?
Students should register to receive a grade appropriate bag of initial supplies to start the school year. This ministry is to assist those who have financial hardships. To register, you may go to Gibsontown Ministries at 1022 Dorothy Street, Kingsport on Thursday's; June 2, June 9, June 16, June 23, June 30, July 7, July 14 or July 21 between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm to register. No sign ups after July 21st. Sorry but we are not offering online signup this year. So you will need to come to Gibsontown Ministries to sign up.
