Vicki Fox is our Thursday morning Bible Study teacher.  She and her husband Russell have lead the class for over a year.  During this time of social distancing and no in-person activities Vicki will be sharing a devotional study via video.  You may watch Session 1 of "Dealing with Anxiety" by clicking on the link below.   Our prayer is that God will use these videos to speak words of encouragement and peace during these difficult days.

GIBSONTOWN MINISTRIES 
SCHOOL SUPPLIES REGISTRATION 
IS NOW OPEN.

A package of school supplies will be available to school age children living in the Gibsontown area of Kingsport.  Preregistration is required.  To register click HERE.  Deadline to register will be Friday, July 17 at 5:00 PM but Gibsontown Ministries reserves the right to stop registration sooner.  

To allow for social distancing appointments will be set for picking up supplies. Following registering you will receive an email notification and instructions with the date and time of your appointment.   Those appointments will be set for the week prior to school starting.  

Packages of supplies not picked up at the appointed time will be made available to others upon request.

Summer Meals for Kids

Summer Meals for Kids

Gibsontown Ministries will be a delivery site for Kingsport City School Summer Meals for Kids.  Meals will be available for pickup by ALL children age 18 and under week days 12:30 - 12:50 pm.

Gibsontown Ministries Activities

Our schedule will be altered during the holidays. 


  • Adult BIble Study will not meet December 26 or January 2.
  • Children's Good News Club will not meet December 26, January 2-16. child care will be provided for those attending the adult bible study.  Club will resume on January 23.  
  • food pantry will not be open December 26 or January 2.

A limited number of diapers, baby wipes and other
hygiene items as available are offered to those that attend Thursday Bible Study Classes.  Must be at Gibsontown by 11:10 AM or 5:10 PM and stay until class is over to receive items

have a new roof put on just ahead of
recent storms.  However, we have not yet
raised all of the funds and are continuing

SCHOOL SUPPLIES



School will be starting soon!  
Grade appropriate bags of school supplies will be distributed on Friday, August 2, 1 PM - 3 PM at Gibsontown Ministries to those that register.  The deadline to register your child/ren is July 26
Registration is now closed.

School Supplies Collection
Last year we distributed 382 bags of grade appropriate supplies.

ITEMS NEEDED
#2 Pencils (not mechanical)  We give 12 to each student
Regular Composition Books  -  (BOUND not spiral)
2 inch - 3 ring binders (only this size needed)
Wide-ruled notebook paper
Tissues --- one box per student
Colored Pencils – 12 count
Dividers
Glue Sticks (each K – 5 child will need 6 each) 
Pencil Boxes


Monday, July 22 -- COLLECTION DAY
BRING any items that have been collected to the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall,
Charlemont Street entrance between 9 – 11 am. Thank you for your help in gathering these school items.
Friday, August 2 -- PACKING THE BAGS  
The more people we have, the less time it will take!  If you have church members that would like to help,
please have them come to the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall at 9:00 a.m. on Friday morning.   
After we finish packing the bags we will take them to the Gibsontown Ministries Building.
Friday, August 2 -- DISTRIBUTION
We will be handing out the bags of supplies 1:00 pm 3:00 pm at Gibsontown Ministries.
Volunteers are needed.
Thank you for being a part of this important ministry.  If you have church members that would rather give money, you can bring that to First Baptist on July 22nd - when you bring your gathered supplies, and we will be shopping to fill in the items that are needed.
